We have been busy! Last week, partners Ellen Makofsky and Lisa Valente attended the New York State Bar Association’s Trusts and Estates Section Spring meeting in beautiful Sonoma, California.
Lisa Valente served as Co-Chair of the program, and had the honor of introducing fellow esteemed colleagues and judges who spoke on various relevant legal topics. Some of the particularly interesting topics included: drafting and administering supplemental needs trusts; estate planning for the multinational client; and, planning to include or avoid DNA relatives. (With genetic test kits such as AncestryDNA and 23andMe available on Amazon, that last topic is particularly timely!)
Why do we attend these meetings and stay active with the state Bar Association? We do it because knowledge is power, and we want to have the most ammunition possible to use on behalf of our clients. The more we know, the better job we can do for you.
