Free Public Taxpayer Forums Happening Now!

Shocked by your latest property tax assessment? You are not the only one! Property taxes in Long Island are notoriously high, but YOU can do something about it. If you are a homeowner in Nassau County, NY, your window of opportunity to file a property tax grievance is now open. Between January 2 and March 2, 2026, Nassau County homeowners can file an Application for Correction of Assessment with the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission.

While our firm does NOT handle these matters, we are very pleased to direct you to some free resources for help. Many Long Islanders successfully grieve their own taxes each year without having to pay legal fees or hiring a tax grievance firm. You can be one of them, with help from the resources below.

Town of Hempstead Receiver of Taxes, Jeanine Driscoll, is hosting a series of free “Grieve Your Assessment” taxpayer forums. Reservations are not required. Forums are taking place through the end of February. The schedule is as follows
