Big news for the New Year… We have a new name! We are now the Makofsky Valente Law Group P.C., reflecting partner Lisa Valente’s contributions to the firm.
“It gives me great pleasure to see Lisa Valente’s name alongside mine,” said founding partner Ellen Makofsky. “In 1995, I hired a 15-year-old high school student, then named Lisa Ramalhete. Lisa was an exceptional file clerk, who became our secretary and then stepped up to become our paralegal. Lisa was very smart and always seemed to be one step ahead of where you thought she would be. She worked for our firm through high school, community college, marriage and 3 children. Lisa, who is now Lisa Valente, was our superb paralegal who knew most answers and when she didn’t know the answer she knew how to find it. After spending over 20 years working with Lisa, I suggested to her that she ought to consider attending law school. She did, and when she graduated, cum laude, she began working at the firm as an associate. In 2021, she became my partner. It gives me great pride to have mentored her, and to now see her name on our door.”
