Partner Lisa Valente is currently serving as Vice President of NYPALC (New York Portuguese American Leadership Conference). The organization was responsible for two major events this month to honor Portugal Day (Dia de Portugal) which was June 10th.
The first event was the lighting of the Mario Cuomo (aka Tappan Zee) bridge in the colors of the flag of Portugal. This was the first time in history that a New York bridge has been lit in the colors of the Portuguese flag. 
The second event was the annual parade which took place in Mineola and brought together all of the New York Portuguese-American organizations and communities.
