The holiday season is in full swing as we approach the New Year. Chances are that you’ve had family gatherings this year, some which may have been postponed. COVID changed a lot of things, and you may not have seen your loved ones in a while. Sometimes these long stretches of time make changes more apparent. You may notice that your parents or older loved ones may have slowed down physically or mentally.
The adage ‘time waits for no man’ is unfortunately a reality that we all live with. Time marches on, and we march right along with it, whether we want to or not. According to the 2019 US Census, nearly 53 million Americans were 65 or older, so there are many of us marching along. While we can’t stop, or even slow down time, we can prepare, and there is power and comfort in preparation for the future.
Now may be the perfect time to have the difficult conversation about the future. Whether it’s thinking about a senior living situation, or preparing legally and financially for retirement and beyond, this is a good time to start the discussion.
