Be Wary: Deed Notice Scam

If you are in the process or have recently made a change to the title to your home (added an owner, transferred to a trust, or sold it), do not be surprised if you receive a notice like the one below:

These notices prompt homeowners to pay a fee (generally between $75 and $110) in order to receive a certified copy of their deed. While the company does provide the deed, it is an unnecessary expense as many deeds are available online or at the County clerk for a nominal fee.

Don’t be fooled by these official looking notices! If you have any questions about notices you receive related to your property, feel free to contact the office at (516) 228-6522 to discuss. We are always here to help.
