Our final “Senior Spotlight” this month shines on Veteran Bob Kroener, a now-retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and civil engineer. Mr. Kroener earned his master’s degree from the University of South California in 1971, but he never got a chance to attend his graduation ceremony because he was called to active duty during the Vietnam War. After reading a University of Southern California alumni magazine, Kroener decided that it was time to walk across the stage and accept his MBA diploma at the age of 78.
In May of 2021 and after 50 years, Veteran Kroener finally joined other graduates in his cap and gown, wearing a custom sash with his military service and Class of 1971 emblazoned on it, and walked across the stage. His proud wife, children and grandchildren cheered him on.
We thank Veteran Kroener and all veterans for their service and dedication to our country.
