We hope you had a joyous Thanksgiving celebration. The holiday season is a time for families to gather around the dinner table spending time reconnecting and enjoying one another. It is a time for good food, good conversation and catching up with those we do not see often enough.
Now that the holiday season is in full swing, we at Makofsky & Associates, P.C. want to encourage everyone to use time with family to not only enjoy the celebrations and holiday treats, but also to discuss or at least investigate certain topics for loved ones who may now be in need of assistance.
We have noticed within our own families that sometimes when you do not visit with relatives or friends frequently, changes in personality or physical ability become more apparent.
The holiday table sometimes turns into a time of reassessment.
……..-Do Mom and Dad need more help at home?
……..-Is their estate plan up to date? Is yours? Maybe it is time to execute a power of attorney or a health care proxy, or revisit previously executed documents.
……..-Should some thought be given to protecting assets against Medicaid?
We are here to provide our advice and to help implement a plan. If you think we can help, give us a call.
Enjoy the holiday season and make sure your loved ones have their stuff(ing) in order!
