Christina Lamm is a magna cum laude graduate of Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. She received her LL.M. in Taxation from Villanova School of Law. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Pace University. She was named to the SuperLawyers Rising Star list for 2021 and 2022. She was also named to the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Tax Law for 2022. She is an attorney at Makofsky Valente Law Group, P.C., with offices in Garden City, New York. For over thirty years, the firm’s practice has concentrated in Elder Law, estate planning, Medicaid planning and applications, guardianships, probate and estate administration.

Christina is a member of the New York State Bar Association and its Elder Law and Special Needs and Trusts and Estates Sections. She is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and serves as Vice Chair of its Elder Law, Social Services and Health Advocacy Committee.  Christina is also an active member of the Suffolk Senior Umbrella Network, an organization whose mission is to educate and enlighten seniors and their caregivers.

Christina authored two articles for the New York State Bar Association’s Elder and Special Needs Law Journal, titled “A Tax Map for Your MAPT” (Winter 2021) and “Testamentary Capacity and the Elusive Lucid Interval, With Tips for Assessing Capacity During the Covid-19 Pandemic” (Winter 2020). Christina also co-authored an article for the New York State Bar Journal, “Proving Diminished Mental Capacity Post-Death” (January 2017) and authored four Articles for the Nassau Lawyer, “Grantor Trusts: Who Pays the Tax?” (December 2021), “I Don’t Qualify for Community Medicaid Because I Have Too Much Income” (March 2021), “My Spouse Cut Me Out of the Will – Now What?” (March 2020), and “Post Community Medicaid Approval” (June 2019).

Christina concentrates her efforts on asset protection, Medicaid applications, accountings, and drafting various estate planning documents for our clients with a focus on tax issues. Christina is eligible for court appointments pursuant to Part 36 of the Rules of the Chief Judge of the New York State Unified Court System to serve as Court Evaluator, Counsel for the Guardian, and Guardian Ad Litem.  Christina has also presented at various adult education programs both on elder law and estate planning.

Christina is a longtime resident of Suffolk County, where she is raising her family and enjoying all it has to offer.  She looks forward to giving back to her local communities.
