Talking Turkey

We hope you had a joyous Thanksgiving celebration.
Here at Makofsky Valente Law Group, P.C. the attorneys and the staff each enjoyed the celebration with family sating all desire for more turkey, stuffing, sides and those delicious and plentiful desserts.
Thanksgiving is a time for families to gather around the Thanksgiving table spending time reconnecting and enjoying one another, and we hope you did. It is a time for good food, good conversation and catching up with those we do not see often enough.
We have noticed within our own families that sometimes when you do not visit with relatives or friends frequently, changes in personality or physical ability are more apparent.
The Thanksgiving table sometimes turns into a time of reassessment. Do Mom and Dad need more help at home? Is their estate plan up to date? Is yours?
Maybe it is time to execute a power of attorney or a health care proxy. Should some thought be given to protecting assets against Medicaid?
